Jeannette brings a wealth of personal and professional experience to navigating a multitude of family issues. She uses the Family Systems Therapy model to support you to resolve emotionally charged immediate and long term relationship conflicts, communication breakdowns, parenting challenges, unwanted behaviours and circulating habits between 2 to all members of your family or group.
To enter Family Counselling you need to leave blame at the door and be open to explore the part each person plays - including YOU, in your group dynamics. These might include power plays, exclusive alliances, triangulation, withdrawals, rejections and more.
What to Expect
Family Systems Counselling is dynamic. It provides the space for each family member to express their thoughts, feelings, concerns and insights, to feel heard, acknowledged and valued.

The process varies from family to family, but generally consists of a combination of group & individual sessions, with various combinations of 1 or more family members and at times the whole family. Immediate and extended family members, teachers or clergy can if included as relevant. Sometimes it will be in your best interest to incorporate a home-visit into your program as well.
Jeannette will assign practical 'homework' to test run the strategies you have developed in your sessions in your home setting. This ensures the integration of the therapy into your daily lives.
