Counselling can make a positive difference to how you navigate injury, chronic or terminal illness, including cancer, and the trauma and pain that comes with these experiences. Counselling with Jeannette can support you to remain mentally and emotionally buoyant through the initial shock, rehabilitation, management and recovery from injury, illness and other traumatic, life-changing experiences.

Major accidents & injuries, including muscular-skeletal spans, strains, soft tissue and tendon tears, beaks, bulges, lacerations, nerve damage or whiplash, to name a few, as well as acute, chronic or terminal illness, can all be life-changing events.

One minute you're fine and going about your business and the next minute you are stopped in your tracks. Your days become filled with doctor's  appointments, treatments, medications and side-effects. You may feel isolated and experience pain, grief and loss about the many changes illness and injury incur across your whole life, financial stress and fear for the future,

You may feel ill, broken, anxious, depressed, alone and hopeless, or you might be struggling with your sudden and unexpected lack of capacity to do the things you used to.

This is definitely the time to reach out for some compassionate and practical support.

You are more than your body -
you have an indestructible divine essence

My joy is supporting people to re-connect with their essence and what matters to them, so they can live with more joy and vitality. There's nothing better!

The most valuable thing I have learned through my own ill experiences is that we are much more than our body. We each have a beautiful unbreakable essence and I am in awe of what opens up for us when we connect to our inner heart and wisdom - despite our circumstances.

"

One of my quadriplegic clients referred to his experience of having a car accident and suddenly becoming paralysed as being like re-incarnating, but in the one life. He felt like he had a new body and a new life, which he needed to learn how to live in. He felt like a baby in this new life, like he was still himself inside, but his choices had changed. It did take time to navigate his processes of acceptance, grief and depression - I won't lie. But this man was an inspiration to his family and peers in his old pre-injury life, and he has grown up in his new life to continue to be an inspiration for many other spinal injury patients - from his wheelchair.  His body was broken but he came to embrace that he is so much more than his body. He is the same amazing being full of love, life and potential.
